The City of Hospitality
Welcome to Booneville, Mississippi, the City of Hospitality! Booneville was founded in 1861 and was named after R.H. Boone, a relative of Daniel Boone! Booneville is an inviting place to live for people of all ages. Our Booneville public school system has a A+ class rating and is a great facilitator of education for our students. Northeast Mississippi Community College is located in the heart of the city and brings a youthful feel to our small town. People of all ages enjoy our local parks, and with a church on every corner, there is no lack of fellowship among our citizens.
When you visit Booneville, you will receive a smile and a "How are ya'll?" with every encounter! During your visit, see beautiful Historic Downtown Booneville with buildings dating back to the early 1900s. Enjoy southern cooking at family-owned restaurants and shop the latest fashion trends at our local boutiques! The Rails & Trails Museum is a must-see while you are exploring our small town! While there, you can see pictures from then and now and gain a full history lesson of the battle that took place in Booneville during the Civil War, the story of the Cunningham House, and the importance the railroad held for Booneville.
We cannot wait to greet you with a warm welcome and a glass of sweet tea; see you soon!
